22,000 square feet and over 150 dealers offering unique and hard-to-find antiques and collectibles.

The Laconia Antique Center is located in a former Newberry’s Department Store built in the 1950’s. Entering this beautiful store is like going back in time as you browse the wide aisles searching for special items.
You will find bookcases stocked full of vintage books in our comfortable reading area.
We offer a wide variety of furniture, lamps, art, maps, prints, glassware, Fiesta Ware, depression glass, stoneware, copper, primitives, estate jewelry, coins, currency, radios, lanterns, bottles, movie posters, advertising, railroad memorabilia, World War II memorabilia, nautical items, Vintage Fishing and Hunting Equipment, ephemera plus many one of a kind items, like a Victorian era embalming table!
*From the pictures it looks like it could be fun to hunt for 'treasure' here. (I even saw a mounted buffalo head!)
Make sure to bring some quarters. I read one review that it cost 25 cents to use the bathroom. (I'm assuming they have the old pay toilets)

One reviewers comments:
My husband really wanted to poke around in here so I reluctantly went. So I am glad we went in and spent some time. We honestly do not need one more piece of stuff in our house so this was kind of like being in a museum if you follow my thinking. It was interesting to walk around and see "stuff" that we have acquired from our deceased relatives and how much they are or are not selling for. We certainly couldn't retire on our "treasures" were we to sell them. But it was interesting to see similar items on display for sale. All the items are well marked for price and there is no one hovering over you as you meander around. Getting hungry, we ate lunch at the lunch counter which was still there from when the building was a JJ Newbury's! The food is nothing to really write home about--your best bet is probably the hot dogs--the sandwiches I saw being made looked kind of sparse for filling. But the prices are low and it is nostalgic if you ever ate at a lunch counter at a Woolworth store or some kind of drug store. My husband and I reminisced quite a bit. THEN, we found our way upstairs to the model train layout/display. DON'T miss it!!! It is great with some hands on things for the kids and the young at heart. The guy who maintains it was there and we had a great conversation with him about his passion to keep the thing going. SO, if you are stuck in the Lakes area on a rainy or unpleasant weather day, go here.
